Baby Echidna, Orangutan, Panda, Bear and Wolf Cared for by Human Helpers
November 5, 2020
In Australia, a baby echidna is being nursed back to health at a Sydney zoo, after a run-in with some birds. Echidnas are also known as spiny anteaters, and they’re related to the platypus. The UK’s Chester Zoo was pleased but surprised to welcome a new baby orangutan in June. The little primate was born to mum Leia -- and zoo officials hadn’t even known that she was pregnant. Bornean orangutans are critically endangered. In the wild, they’re found only on Indonesia’s island of Borneo.
