Russian Judge Extends Brittney Griner’s Detention

WNBA Phoenix Mercury star Brittney Griner appeared in court in Russia, where her detention was extended six months pending the outcome of her trial. Griner could face 10 years in prison if convicted of large-scale transportation of drugs. Her trial is scheduled to begin Friday. Griner, considered by some to be the United States' most gifted female athlete, has been held in Russia since her arrest at a Moscow airport in February.
