Cross Country Runner Carries Injured Teammate Across Finish Line

A cross country runner helped his injured teammate finish a race, and defined the term “true sportsmanship” in the process. Blake Lewis, a junior at Riverton High School in Utah, recalled the excruciating sound of his leg bone snapping with only 200 meters left in the state championship meet. “During the race I felt fine, but just at the last part I did not feel good,” Lewis told Inside Edition. His teammate Sean Rausch stopped and lifted Lewis, carrying him for the remainder of the race.
