Does HomeAdvisor Screen Its Contractor Network to Weed Out Convicted Criminals?

A Chicago couple were stunned when a contractor they hired off HomeAdvisor had a meltdown after becoming disgruntled, smashing the Chicago homeowners’ property before collapsing. HomeAdvisor says it conducts background checks of its service providers, so Moody says he was surprised to learn the contractor he hired to do a repair had a criminal record for burglary. Inside Edition found other homeowners who said they hired contractors through HomeAdvisor only to later learn they had criminal records.
