First Black ‘Bachelor’ Announced in Show’s 40 Season, 18 Year History

One of the longest running dating shows in America is finally debuting their first black “Bachelor.” The franchise, which has run for 40 seasons over 14 years, was accused of “systemic racism” by Rachel Lindsay, the first and only black “Bachelorette.” The new beau, 28-year-old Matt James, said that he looks forward to taking on the role of change-maker at the show. He’s a commercial real estate broker in New York City who grew up in North Carolina and played football at Wake Forest University.
