Five Baby Monkeys Found in Backpack

Baby monkeys were seized at a border in northern Chile. Customs officials say the 5 primates were discovered at a traffic checkpoint near the border with Bolivia. Customs officials say they were found in a backpack. The primates were dehydrated and hungry. The suspect who was found with the monkeys has been arrested. Authorities say one of the animals has died. The remaining monkeys are being cared for by Chile’s Agricultural and Livestock Service.
