Woman Sentenced 366 Days for Killing Terminally Ill Husband

It was a tense standoff as police poured into a hospital after a shooting. Cops were stunned when the shooter turned out to be a 76-year-old woman, Ellin Gilland. The dead patient was her 77-year-old husband. Gilland told police she and her husband had made a suicide pact. After shooting him in the head, Gilland says she got cold feet when it was time to turn the gun on herself. She was sentenced to 366 days behind bars after pleading no contest to charges of manslaughter and aggravated assault.
