In a short clip of a “CBS This Morning” interview posted on social media on Tuesday, Gayle King asked WNBA star Lisa Leslie if she thought Kobe Bryant’s legacy was “complicated” by the assault allegations against the star. The clip began to generate backlash. Today, King posted a video saying that the clip was taken out of context, blaming her own network for posting “the most salacious part.” King made it clear that she’s still mourning Kobe’s death, and that the last thing she wants is to disparage him.
