Jada Pinkett Smith revealed she separated from Will Smith in 2016. Turns out, they were secretly living apart for the last seven years. Pinkett Smith dropped the bombshell to Hode Kotbe on the “TODAY” show. “I think by the time we got to 2016, we were both exhausted with trying,” she says. “I think we were both kind of still stuck in our fantasy.” Pinkett Smith also says she kept the separation a secret because she was not ready.
