Kim Kardashian West Slammed for Cultural Appropriation Over 'Kimono' Line

Kim Kardashian West has drawn ire for cultural appropriation again after naming her new shapewear line "Kimono." A kimono is a formal Japanese robe reserved for special occasions like weddings, coming-of-age ceremonies and visits to shrines, and some feel naming a line of underwear after it is disrespectful. It isn't the first time Kardashian West has been accused of cultural appropriation; she was slammed for calling a traditional African hair style "Bo Derek braids" and donning a maang tikka.
