NYPD Uses High-Tech Methods to Protect Times Square New Year’s Partiers

The NYPD isn’t taking any chances to help protect over 1 million revelers in Times Square this New Year’s. For the first time ever, thermal imaging drones will be watching the festivities from the sky. Manhole covers are sealed, and radiation detectors will be deployed. Everyone entering Times Square will be screened, and backpacks, chairs, umbrellas, coolers and alcohol are all banned from the site.
