Raucous Halloween Celebrations Return to New York City After Year Off
November 1, 2021
Thousands of revelers packed the streets of Manhattan to celebrate the return of Halloween after a year of parades and festivities were cancelled due to the pandemic. There were lots of COVID-19 and vaccine-themed costumes. But the next morning, the mayor’s vaccination mandate went into effect. All New York city workers, including police and firefighters, have to be vaccinated, or face unpaid leave. The mayor said there were no expected delays in response time from emergency services.
