February 13, 2025
President Trump fired the Kennedy Center's president and every member of the board that was appointed by Joe Biden. He replaced them with singer Lee Greenwood, Second Lady Usha Vance, and his White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. Now, the new board elected Trump as the chairman of the Kennedy Center. Following the announcement, famed opera singer Renee Fleming quit as the center's artistic advisor and Shonda Rhimes, creator of "Grey's Anatomy," resigned as treasurer.
