Military Man Surprises Sister Right Before Her High School Graduation
Brittany O'Keefe had no idea her brother, Devancy Jefferson, was coming, and he brought along his daughter, whom Brittany had never met.
An Alabama high school senior getting ready to graduate received a sweet surprise just days before her ceremony.
Brittany O'Keefe was running through a rehearsal for the big day at Huntsville High School when her brother, who’d been deployed by the Air Force in Japan for more than a year, decided to surprise her.
O'Keefe had no idea her brother, Devancy Jefferson, was coming. And he brought along his daughter, whom O'Keefe had never met.
It was an extremely emotional moment for the duo. She burst into tears as soon as she saw him.
"I haven't seen him in a year and I thought he was going to miss my graduation, and that's the last thing that I wanted,” O'Keefe told WHNT.
Thankfully, Jefferson will be able to see his sister walk across the stage, as he has two weeks to spend with his friends and family. He was happy to see the surprise work out the way it did.
"I think it was a success,” Jefferson said. “It took a lot of work.”
