'Slick' Man Allegedly Burglarized Over a Dozen Celebrity Homes, Taking Millions in Jewels, Wine, Art: Cops

Benjamin Eitan Ackerman, 32, allegedly robbed at least 13 homes from 2017 to 2018, pilfering jewels, wine, artwork and more, according to police.

A Los Angeles man has been arrested in connection with a string of "very sophisticated" burglaries of celebrity homes.

Benjamin Eitan Ackerman, 32, allegedly robbed at least 13 homes from 2017 to 2018, pilfering jewels, wine, artwork and more, according to police.

“We estimate the total worth in the millions of dollars, multiple millions of dollars,” LAPD Det. Jared Timmons said at a press conference.

Ackerman's alleged victims included Usher, Adam Lambert and Jason Derulo. He allegedly burglarized the homes as they were being shown through open houses.

“People didn’t challenge him when he walked into their houses," said Timmons. "When he showed up, he was dressed to the nines."

He added: "He was very slick."

Police believe that more than 2,000 items were stolen over the course of Ackerman's alleged spree.

Authorities are attempting to reunite the owners with their belongings and have established a website showing the stolen items

Ackerman has not yet been formally charged in the case because the investigation remains ongoing, according to officials. He was arrested in September, but authorities only recently announced it.

Court records do not list an attorney for Ackerman.
