Veteran News Anchor Says She Was Scammed Out Of Her Life Savings

    July 8, 2026
A veteran news anchor went public after saying she was scammed out of her life savings. Alex Delgado worked at KSEE in Fresno for 22 years. After she retired, she said she put years of savings into a banking and investment app called Robinhood. Delgado says she got a text from someone she thought was from Robinhood telling her there was suspicious activity on her account and to call a number. Over two days, she says the scammer, who turned out not to be from Robinhood, gained her trust and convinced her to transfer her entire account. Robinhood says they are aware that financial scams are on the rise and for that reason they have implemented safeguards in place to monitor, report, and disrupt fraudulent activity.
