Woman Miraculously Survives Lightning Strike Outside Georgia Church
July 2, 2026
A Georgia woman is lucky to be alive after a lightning strike sent her into cardiac arrest in a church parking lot. Mary Menna, who goes by "Jeanne," was volunteering at Saint Joseph Catholic School in Marietta, Georgia, when a storm moved in. Lightning hit a nearby tree, splitting it in half. The tree then hit her, sending her into cardiac arrest. She was taken to a hospital and amazed doctors with her recovery. Menna returned to the church parking lot where it happened Monday, to meet and hug the first responders who saved her life.
