Tomb of Ancient Priest Unearthed in Peru

The tomb of an ancient priest was recently discovered in Peru. A team of Peruvian and Japanese archaeologists said they found the 3000-year-old grave at the Pacopampa archaeological site. In addition to human remains, researchers also found artifacts – including musical instruments – and snail shells. Archaeologist Yuji Seki told Reuters those shells came a long distance – from Ecuador, not Peru – which means the person buried with them may have been especially important.
