Black Comedians Discuss Making Art in 2020: ‘Our Existence Is a Form of Protest’

In the wake of COVID-19, stand up comedy was put on hold, depriving comics of the opportunity to talk out issues onstage. For Black comics, the world being on pause presented an opportunity to rest, reflect, and focus on self-care. But then the murder of George Floyd split the world open. As part of The Issue, Inside Edition Digital hosted a virtual round table of Black comedians Lil Rel Howery, Sydnee Washington, Yedoye Travis and Janelle James to discuss how they’re responding to the moment.
