Dr. Oz Outlines How to Avoid ‘Widowmaker’ Heart Attack

February 27, 2018

Director Kevin Smith is lucky to be alive after having a so-called "widow-maker" heart attack at just 47. Smith sought immediate medical attention after feeling nauseous while at the Alex Theater in California, where he was performing standup. "It's called the widow-maker because it makes widows in a split second," Dr. Mehmet Oz, of ‘The Dr. Oz Show,’ told Inside Edition. Smith wrote in a Facebook post, "If I hadn't canceled the second show to go to the hospital, the doc said I would have died."
