Emotional 1st Wedding Dance for Ukrainian Nurse Who Lost Legs to Russian Shelling

Twenty-three-year-old Oksana Balandina was walking home with her fiancé, Viktor, on March 27th. It was about a month after Russia began its invasion of Ukraine, and Oksana stumbled on an unexploded landmine. Doctors had to amputate Oksana’s legs and four of the fingers on her left hand. The couple hopes eventually to travel to Germany for Oksana to get rehabilitation and prosthetic legs.
