Girl Scouts Troop Leader Sticks to Claim Cookie Money Was Stolen

February 1, 2019

Some Girl Scouts in New Jersey are caught up in a cookie scandal. Troop members who set up a table with boxes of cookies at the Woodbridge Center Mall claim their cookie money was stolen, but local police can’t find any evidence of the alleged theft. Police say the troop leader told them an envelope was swiped containing $1,100 in cash and checks. They say she identified the suspects as a handicapped man and an elderly woman. Now police surveillance video "failed to show" any theft.
