Saying "Dada" is a milestone for most infants, but for little Maddie Caputo, the first words were all the more astonishing. Maddie was born with her vocal cords fused together and could barely manage a rasp when she opened her mouth. After a life-threatening infection, Maddie had surgery to open up her airway. Sixteen days later, Maddie said her first word. And she hasn't stopped since, as her parents say the now-1-year-old is chattering nonstop with them and her brother.
