Man Who Dated Nicole Brown Simpson Recalls OJ's 'Death Stare'
July 17, 2026
The slaying of Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman is one of the most notorious crimes in American history. But Joseph Perrulli says it could have been him.
Perrulli says he dated Nicole after she split from O.J. Simpson. He tells Inside Edition's Jim Moret that the former football great gave him a death stare he'll never forget. Perrulli's memories of his time with Nicole are recounted in his new book, "The Forgotten Briefcase."

“Nicole arrived just as I was emerging from the guest bedroom.
I could hear her talking excitedly to Kris and Bruce about how she’d just moved into a new house on Gretna Green Way in Brentwood. Her back was to me, but I could tell from her silhouette that as Kris and Bruce had both already said, she was in much better shape than when we’d first met.
But there was something more to it. As I approached, she turned to me and smiled, and I realized what it was: she looked happy. She looked so happy, in fact, that I could barely recognize her. The grief and sadness I’d once detected in her eyes had vanished without a trace. The delicate lines of melancholy framing her mouth were gone, too; even her hair looked thicker and more lustrous. Quite frankly, she looked like an entirely new woman. I was completely floored by her metamorphosis.”
