January 23, 2019

Michael Mack, the owner of a pawn shop in Las Vegas, says he’s seeing a surge in customers who are hitting hard times after being furloughed in the federal shutdown. Mack says he’s seeing Christmas presents being pawned. One woman even had to pawn her wedding ring so her family could eat. The owner of the shop is now offering workers interest-free loans during the duration of the shutdowns. Mack was able to give a $500 loan on a pair of $1,500 Louis Vuitton boots.
