Lee was known as the man behind the Marvel universe, responsible for such characters as Spider-Man, Black Panther, Iron Man and Captain America, among many others. He was a well-known pop-culture figure, a regular at comic conventions, red carpets, and anywhere people talk about comic books and comic heroes.
