New Orleans Shuts Down French Quarter Until After Mardi Gras to Avoid Spread

Vaccines are coming to local pharmacies as 1 million doses are distributed to chains across the country. As states continue to take precautions, Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Louisiana, is cancelled. Last year, the celebration was one of the biggest super spreaders of COVID-19 during the pandemic. New York and Los Angeles are re-opening restaurants in time for Valentine’s Day, but some remain fearful that the move could end up furthering the spread.
