The ancient city of Pompeii has yielded more of its treasures, in the form of sophisticated fresco paintings. Researchers with the Archaeological Park of Pompeii shared footage of the artworks – which have been sealed away since the Roman city was buried in a volcanic eruption in 79 CE. Archaeologists believe the art shows scenes from Greek mythology. These 2000-year-old finds likely won’t be the last ones uncovered in Pompeii – roughly a third of the city has yet to be excavated.
