Scientists Say July 3, 2023 Was Hottest Day Ever Recorded on Earth

For half of the world, summer just started and it’s already breaking records. Scientists from the US National Centers for Environmental Prediction say July 3, 2023 was the hottest day ever, or at least since people started keeping records of such things. The average temperature around the world was 62.62 Fahrenheit, or 17.01 Celsius. That beat a record set in August of 2016 at 62.46 Fahrenheit, and just under 17 Celsius.
