With turkeys costing 23% more than last year, many Americans are avoiding the traditional meat this Thanksgiving. Thrifty chef Lauren Van Liew says thinking outside the box will save you cash. She recommends buying a rotisserie chicken as a cheaper alternative to turkey. Van Liew also says buying parts of a turkey can save you some money. In New York, frugal living expert Lauren Corbella recommends purchasing a ham for Thanksgiving.
