The beloved "Arthur" character came out as gay and tied the knot with a chocolatier named Patrick in the season 22 premiere of the long-running series on Monday, much to social media's delight.

LOGOtv congratulated the happy couple in a touching Instagram post.

"And we say hey, congratulations Mr. Ratburn! The kids show @arthur.pbs celebrated their first same-sex wedding with the beloved teacher getting married!"

"Wow! This is going to impact a lot of children in the best way," one person commented on the Instagram post.

"IM NOT CRYING YOU’RE CRYING," said a second.

"AND THIS IS WHY I STILL WATCH ARTHUR EVEN IN MY LATE TWENTIES!" chimed in a third.
