Manson Family Member Freed From Prison After 53 Years
Former Manson Family member Leslie Van Houten walked free from prison after serving 53 years of a life sentence. Van Houten was 19 when she took part in the Tate-LaBianca killing spree under Charles Manson. The cult leader targeted Los Angeles grocery store tycoon Leno LaBianca and his wife, Rosemary, and his followers brutally stabbed them to death. Van Houten admitted to holding down Rosemary as she begged for her life. Her release comes after a state appeals court ruled that Van Houten should be granted parole.
